Safe Space @ Capital
Monday, October 7th (10am – 4pm)
On 10.7.2024 the Jewish Community will commemorate one year since the horrific attacks in Israel that changed our world forever.
We invite the Jewish community, especially professionals working in the non-Jewish sector, to spend the day on the Capital Camps & Retreat Center campus. Attendees can choose to use the day in the manner that provides the most comfort:
- Walking the hiking trails
- Engaging in restorative conversations
- Sitting by the stream with friends or independently
- Overlooking the lake or taking out a boat
- Playing basketball, tennis or soccer
- Utilizing WIFI in our Retreat Center to telework
- Meditating in the mountain air
- Singing by the campfire
- Enjoying a kosher lunch
Registration required by sundown on 10/2 (Erev Rosh Hashanah)
This is a great opportunity to use those mental health days and take care of yourself on what will undoubtedly be a difficult day.
The day and campus are your own, you are invited to enjoy and reflect.
Transportation may be provided from a central location to Capital Retreat Center, returning to the DC area to end at The Anthem for the broader community. Registration for the evening event hosted by The Jewish Federation, JCRC, and Washington Board of Rabbis.
