Stitching Together: A Day of Fiber Arts and Jewish Connection

Join us in the beautiful Catoctic Mountains (just 75 minutes from Baltimore and DC) for an inspiring event on December 8th:

Stitching Together: A Day of Fiber Arts and Jewish Connection

In the past year, being a Jew, for many, has felt disorienting and isolating. We invite you to join us at Capital Camps and Retreat Center for a day dedicated to creativity, support, and connection—a space where Jewish identity and therapeutic fiber arts come together in a spirit of community, pride, and renewal, without fear or apology.

Celebrated folk artist Sam Barsky will lead us in this special retreat, offering warmth, inspiration, and a dose of “chicken soup for the Jewish soul.” Known for his iconic sweaters that capture his travels and Jewish heritage, Sam will share his journey and engage participants in a meaningful exploration of art, culture, and Jewish identity. You’ll have the opportunity to experience a day of inspiration, relaxation, learning and sharing.

As a highlight, Vogue Knitting will conduct a live interview with Suzan Colón of medKNITation® interviewing Sam, and broadcast from our gathering to their New York City event—meaning you’ll be part of the studio audience for this exciting feature.

Jews and allies are warmly welcome to join us for a day filled with creativity, connection, a kosher lunch, and an opportunity to learn, share, and renew in a welcoming environment.
