Thanks to Mount St. Mary’s University for partnering with us on our Leadership Program. Middle-school students traveled to Capital Retreat Center in Waynesboro, PA to fine-tune their skills on the challenge course. Working with trained facilitators, students worked together to accomplish their strategic goals focusing on teamwork, communication and problem solving.
Students in sixth grade collaborated on several field challenges, such as moving the group from one side of a tarp to the other while never stepping off of it.
Students in seventh grade tested their skills on low elements, such as climbing the rope ladder, getting everyone on the moving log, and helping teammates to climb the wall.
Eighth grade students worked on individual skills, such as planning, trust and risk-taking. They mastered a rock wall, a climbing tower and the zip line.
